Widener Library is the world's largest university library. It is the central library of the larger entity known as the Harvard College Library. Horace Trumbauer designed the library building. T. Franklin Currier, born Feb. 26, 1873, Harvard A.B. 1894, was a librarian in Harvard College Library. He declined a career in teaching because of hearing problems; from 1894-1902 he was an assistant in the Catalog Department; from 1902-1940 he was in charge of cataloging.
